Lori A. Hill-Sanders is a native Detroiter and an alumnus of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling.
Lori Sanders is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Disability Network Wayne County Detroit, where she provides leadership for the delivery of core services to promote independence, inclusion, and social change. Her vision is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families. Under her direction, the organization has expanded services and improved outreach, ensuring stability and life-saving services for the community.
Lori Sanders is the former Chief Director of the Detroit Reading Corps. The Reading Corps is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based tutoring initiative designed to provide literacy support to children in Detroit. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at various colleges and as a consultant for nonprofit development services in Southeast Michigan.
Lori Sanders was also the Executive Director and Development Director for various organizations providing services throughout Southeast Michigan, including child care programs and educational initiatives.
Lori Sanders began her career in Michigan programs, successfully implementing health programs and educational resources. She has worked hard to ensure that residents have access to quality services, advocating for social change and community inclusion. Her work has focused on creating safe environments and supporting families in need.
Lori Sanders has been and is currently a member of various boards and associations, including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Michigan Association of Centers for Independent Living. She continues to be a vocal advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.
Lori Sanders is a Certified Business Service Professional from Michigan State University's School of Labor and Industrial Relations. She continues to lead with a passion for serving the community and creating a more inclusive society for all.
